Southland SKAN 20mm Ultraviolet Water Disinfection SKUV30LCD
Ultraviolet light is a natural component of sunlight, falling just below the visible light region of the Electromagnetic spectrum. Certain wavelengths of UV light have the ability to destroy micro-organisms (bacteria, virus, cysts etc) in water and air, by damaging their DNA molecules, thus preventing them replicating and surviving to cause harm. No micro-organisms are known to be resistant to UV. It is effective against bacteria, moulds, fungal spores, viruses and yeasts. Ultraviolet disinfection gives safe water without the use of harmful chemicals, does not affect the taste or odour of the water and uses less power than an standard light bulb.
Benefits of UV:
Enhances overall water safety Effective destruction of dangerous organisms that can pass from water treatment processes to point of use.
No harmful chemicals No residents or harmful chemical by-products, like Trinalmathane, are introduced into the water.
No affect to taste or water quality UV does not affect the taste, odour or clarity of the water.
